Anaheim Ducks, Dallas Stars meet in Pacific division clash
NHL Pacific division rivals the Dallas Stars and the Anaheim Ducks meet Friday at the American Airlines Center.
Dallas 8-5-0-0 and Anaheim is 7-7-1-0 so far this season. NHL odds experts will keep an close eye on the matchup.
Bobby Ryan scored two goals and Johan Hiller made 35 saves to lead the Ducks to a 5-2 win the last time the teams met on Oct. 26 in Anaheim.
But it was veteran sniper Teemu Selanne who was the real hero for the Ducks that night, as he scored his 611th NHL goal during a third-period power play, breaking a tie with Bobby Hull and taking over 15th place on the all-time NHL goal scoring list.
Selanee was overjoyed with the feat.
"I've met [Hull] many times, and I never imagined I'd score more goals than him," said the 40-year-old Selanne, who also had an assist to give him 801 points with the Ducks. "It's unbelievable, when you look back at your career, the numbers. Good things happen when you play long.
"When I read my name in the same story with Bobby Hull or somebody else, it's a big compliment. I'm thankful for all these years."
Corey Perry also scored while tough-guy George Parros picked up a rare goal. Loui Eriksson and Brian Sutherby scored for the Stars.
